Matthew J. Olson is an attorney with and a member of Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson, L.C., joining the firm in 2010. Prior to moving into private practice, Matt worked as a prosecutor for both the City of Wichita and Office of the District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District of Kansas. During his time as a prosecutor, Matt prosecuted over 25 jury trials and over 75 bench trials. Matt gained experience by trying and prosecuting cases ranging from DUI and misdemeanor traffic, to first and second degree murder, second degree murder (DUI), aggravated robbery, rape, drive-by shootings, and domestic violence cases. Matt participated in several statewide law enforcement training classes by teaching law enforcement and prosecutors on DUI and other criminal case issues. Since joining Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson, L.C. in 2010, Matt has continued to strive to provide the best representation for his clients in and out of the courtroom. Matt has successfully represented clients in high asset divorce cases involving the evacuation and valuation of professional properties, family owned businesses and high wage earners. Matt also litigates child custody and other domestic case related matters with the firm. Additionally, Matt handles civil matters ranging from non-compete agreements to general contract litigation. Matt continues to enjoy being in the courtroom and litigating all types of cases.

Matt is a highly rated attorney, as evidenced by his “A-V” rating in the “Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.”

Matt is a Wichita native and attended Newman University where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts History degree. Matt attended Valparaiso University School of Law, located in Valparaiso, Indiana (just outside of Chicago), and graduated in 2006. Matt originally sat for the Michigan Bar and became licensed in the state of Michigan before he returned to Kansas to work for the City of Wichita Prosecutor’s Office in 2006.
