Biography

Gerald was born January 21, 1930 in St. Mary’s, Kansas. Raised on a ranch, Gerald worked his way through school by bronco busting in rodeos. Gerald graduated from Washburn University in 1953 (B.B.A.), and Washburn University School of Law in 1954 (J.D.). While serving in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the U.S. Air Force, he developed a love of travel and would travel around the world to places in Europe and Africa. He also loved to travel throughout the United States. Gerald was a member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations, the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association (now known as Kansas Association for Justice) where he served as Secretary from 1968 to 1970, and the Board of Governors from 1968 to 1995. Gerald was also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now known as American Association for Justice). In 1966, Dale B. Stinson, Jr. and Gerald formed a law partnership that has grown and become the firm of Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson, L.C. After Gerald became “of counsel”, he continued to come into the office daily to practice the law he loved, as well as converse with his colleagues of whom he was so fond. Gerald touched many lives during his lifetime, through his law practice and his world travels. He will be greatly missed by us all. Gerald passed away October 30, 2007.
