DUI

Driving Under the Influence

At Stinson, Lasswell & Wilson, L.C., we have the experienced trial attorneys, including a former public defender and a former prosecutor in both the District Attorney and City Attorney’s office, who can properly advise clients and ensure all procedures that government officials must adhere to have been followed. Driving under the influence charges are highly technical and the police have a series of protocols they must follow before obtaining a conviction.

Our Attorneys Specializing in this area:
Our attorneys have the experience and knowledge to immediately diagnose a case and determine if the investigation was properly conducted. Failure by the police to establish probable cause for the reason you were pulled over, establish a reasonable suspicion you have consumed alcohol and/or drugs, properly administer field sobriety testing, the Intoxilyzer 8000 or a request for a blood sample to determine your blood alcohol content (i.e. B.A.C.) can open the door for our experienced attorneys to suppress illegally/improperly obtained evidence. An individual should think of a DUI investigation as a set of stairs. The police, in order to seek a conviction for DUI, must properly step on each individual stair. Skipping and/or missing stairs increases the chances for a dismissal of the charges. Getting pulled over and arrested for driving under the influence can have a serious impact on your life and livelihood. It is imperative that a person arrested for driving under the influence immediately contact an experienced DUI attorney. In a DUI arrest, there are strict deadlines that an individual must comply with or consequences, such as a suspension of your driver’s license or the inability to seek diversion can occur. Some of these deadlines occur as at fast as ten (10) business days after you are arrested for driving under the influence. Our attorneys can help guide you through this new and often scary process. We are always available to answer questions and provide you with options so you are free to concentrate on your life moving forward.
